"Kevät (Spring, 2021) is a duo work that I wrote for my father in his 70th birthday. Kevät provides a rare addition to the virtually non-existing duo repertoire for english horn and cello. Some of the cello techniques I used in Kevät – such as combining the open strings with fingered same pitches, as well as certain harmonic techniques – found their way to the solo cello commission of the Turku Cello Competition 2022, which I'm currently working on."
