Work on progress – Multikolor

“I’m currenly working on a piece for solo barytone saxophone and a 10-piece TampereRaw ensemble. Commissioned by TampereRaw, Multikolor will be premiered at Autumn 2015 with Joonatan Rautiola as the soloist.

During the compositional process I’ve worked exceptionally intensively with the soloist and explored the multiphonic world of the solo instrument together with Joonatan. The title of the piece gives all the relevant information of its content – it’s about musical colours and multiphones – two wonderful characteristics of barytone sax as an instrument.
