Kanto (2001) is a short, meditative solo piece for cello (or Baroque cello), instructed by the composer as follows: “Don’t try to grow the piece to “epic proportions” and be considerate with the use of vibrato. Kanto is not a showcase for heroic, battling romantic cellism. It is withdrawn, intime music and should be taken as such.” (O.V. May 2014)
