”Lamento of Ananias (original Finnish title Ananiaan valitus) is a work in a traditional lamento character, built on a broad melody around a stable drone of the tonic A in the middle register. The version for solo organetto is plain and archaic, whereas the arrangement for tenor recorder and organetto is more colourfully orchestrated. Originally composed for the second movement of the treble viol suite Maatiaissarja, Lamento of Ananias has turned to function well also as a solo piece, hence the status of an independent composition.
