Description

Särmäneula (Broadnosed Pipefish) is a musical portrait of Syngnathus typhle, the seahorse-related fish found in the coastal shallow waters of the Eastern Atlantic and the Baltic Sea.

The short guitar minature was written in 2012 for Petri Kumela’s collection Small Creatures – A Musical Encyclopedia in the Making. Särmäneula was premiered by Kumela at the Time of Music Festival in Viitasaari in 2013.
